A Turkish national suspected of spying on Ankara's behalf on the large Kurdish community in Germany has been arrested in the city of Hamburg, the German federal prosecutor's office said Friday.
About 25,000 Kurds and Alevis rallied in the German city of Cologne on Saturday against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, after the arrest of pro-Kurdish politicians earlier this month, the DPA news agency reported.
Berlin is preparing to send around 40 soldiers to northern Iraq to train Kurdish fighters battling against militants from the Islamic State, the German army said on Saturday.
