Germany advised its citizens on Wednesday to leave the greater Tokyo region because of the crisis at Japan's Fukushima nuclear plant. Meanwhile Germans were also told to leave the Gulf state of Bahrain as protests there became increasingly violent.
German rail operator Deutsche Bahn said on Sunday it had signed a multi-billion-euro contract to build high-speed railway lines and underground transport networks in Qatar and Bahrain.
