People in Germany have to endure a fair amount of grey skies, but even so, the weather so far this summer has been uniquely disappointing for many. Tom Pugh examines whether there's any hope for sunshine in the coming weeks?

That a bit over dramatic and border on climate amnesia. This July was well within the range of the climate average of 1991-2020 and well above 1961-1991. As shown here: https://www.wetterprognose-wettervorhersage.de/wetter/juli/wetter-juli-2025/12966-wetter-juli-2025-deutschland-zu-warm-zu-nass-und-weniger-sonnenschein-als-ueblich.html It was indeed a bit more wet that usual but given the terrible danger of an heatwave (e.g. end of June 2025) it is much preferable than inescapable heat.
