Is it residency permit renewals, driving licence issues, visa applications or paying taxes? Tell us the one aspect of German paperwork you have trouble with and share any tips with readers.

German bureaucracy is notoriously painful and an attempt to make life easier for residents by getting as many procedures online as possible has not paid off.

Indeed a new report has said the idea of a "digital Germany" is just a "distant prospect".

So we want to hear about the most troublesome bureaucratic procedures in Germany. Is it taxes or driving licences or renewing residency permits? What do you think really needs to improve?

Please take a minute or two to share your experiences and tips with fellow readers. We'll publish the most useful responses in a future article.

Just bought a new Vespa for our beach house… I tried the IKFZ but was rejected for some reason.. now I can’t register my scooter until the 28th of April?? I’m a US/canadian(lots of us are both) citizen.. in the US, you would get a paper temporary plate that is valid for 30days.. you can drive immediately then go online, get your stuff and put on the plates when they come in the mail
