There's a new requirement for an electronic visa waiver for travellers from Europe to the UK, and unfortunately where there are online processes, there are also scams and unauthorised websites.

Hello,, We just filed for an ETA through UK ETA which cost 79 pounds. We were issued an ETA number. Have we been scammed? Is this a valid site? And if not why is our recourse? The logo is the crown but without the colors. Thank you for any information. Gilda Camuto

    Hi Gilda, Unfortunately it sounds like you might have been. The ETA costs £10 for one person. This is the official government site https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta Any other sites (apart from the UK government app) are unauthorised. You may have to contact your bank to try and recover the money
