Germany is just over five weeks away from its snap federal elections, which could bring with them a radical shake-up on German politics for years to come.

Whether you can vote in the polls or not, you may be wondering just how the outcome of the election might affect you and your rights, how the elections actually work, and when we'll know the results for sure.
