VIDEO: Watch Merkel explain the delicate challenge of ending lockdown in Germany
German Chancellor Angela Merkel has a tough job guiding her country through the coronavirus crisis. This video of her explaining the science behind the delicate challenge Germany faces in lifting lockdown restrictions has won praise, especially when compared to other world leaders.
The clip, posted on Twitter, was an excerpt from a press conference given by Merkel to explain a plan to lift the coronavirus lockdown in Germany.
While her strategy has reportedly come under fire from certain state leaders around Germany, she has won praise, on social media at least for her efforts in explaining the science behind the government's difficult task in easing restrictions.
Here you can watch and judge for yourselves. Some on social media have compared her effort to those made by US President Donald Trump, who has been heavily criticised in some quarters for failing to take the virus seriously as well as giving different advice to the government's leading public health figures.
