Yes or no? Man asks public for clues to drunken proposal

His intentions were perhaps pure, but his actions far from sober.

A man in Münster, North Rhine-Westphalia apparently realized his heart was so full of love that he spontaneously proposed to his girlfriend - well, full of love and lots of alcohol.

The problem was that once he sobered up, he couldn’t remember whether his sweetheart had answered ‘yes’ or ‘no’. And she has since refused to tell him.

So now the lovebird has taken out a newspaper advertisement in search of people who can tell him what happened. Pictures of the advert have since gone viral on social media.

“In search of witnesses. I proposed to my girlfriend at 4.30am on September 24th at Friedrich-Ebert Str / Annennstr. Due to a large consumption of alcohol, I cannot remember her answer and she’s remaining silent. Who saw the proposal and can give me relevant clues?”

One tweet of the advert has been retweeted more than 350 times and 'liked' more than 600 times.

Whether the publicity will lead to him to an answer - or down the aisle - is yet to be seen.
