Woman grabs sex attacker and hands him over to police
A young mother made a brave stand against sexual assault in Germany’s streets on Tuesday, when she grabbed her attacker and stopped him getting away until the police arrived.
The 31-year-old mother noticed something wasn’t quite right when an unfamiliar man began to follow her as she walked down the street with her young child.
It was the afternoon and in the previous three weeks seven other sexual attacks had taken place on the streets of this same neighbourhood in the quiet north German port town of Lübeck.
As the woman walked on the man moved ever closer and eventually reached out and put his hand up between her legs, police report.
But instead of letting herself be intimidated, the woman grabbed her attacker and refused to let him go until the police - who were alerted by passersby - arrived on the scene.
Police now believe it is “very likely” that the man was also behind a string of sexual assaults which began in late December.
