(FAZ) said RTL was in competition with US group Time Warner and Vivendi of France for a controlling stake in the Polish television network.

The FAZ said that Discovery Communications and media mogul Rupert Murdoch were also interested in bidding for a 56 percent holding being offered by TVN's founders.

The reports said the race to take control of the Polish network was completely open and that a decision could come in the second half of September.
