A worldwide ranking based on answers from more than 1,000 high-level decision makers put Germany in sixth place behind China, the United States, India, Russia and Brazil.
Forty-three percent of poll participants said Germany had the best conditions to overcome the economic crisis.
“This definitive result was a surprise to us,” Ernst & Young expert Peter Englisch said.
Only 11 and 9 percent of those asked thought Britain and France were well-poised to deal with the crisis, he added.
Deciding factors for considering a country a good place to invest included innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, sector-specific know-how, and different large industrial groups.
Many investors said they trust Germany will navigate the current downturn with mastery.
