Families hoping to cash in on the German government’s stimulus package payment of €100 per child will reportedly have to wait until April due to bureaucratic delays.

Daily newspaper Bild reported on Tuesday that the Finance Ministry has yet to sort out payment details with the fund dealing with family benefits, meaning the child bonus cannot be paid out in March as planned.

Apparently the authorities had to wait until the €50-billion stimulus package officially became law before they could start organising the payments. But since the extra €100-child bonus is supposed to be transferred along with normal monthly child benefits it will be too late in March.
