Earthquake hits Bavaria

A mild earthquake hit the Karwendel region of the Alps in the German state of Bavaria on Monday evening.
The quake measured 2.8 on the Richter scale, police said.
There were no injuries or property damage, but even a gentle jiggle is enough to get people's attention in a region not known for tectonic rumblings.
