Til Schweiger joins cast of new Tarantino film
German heartthrob Til Schweiger has been added to the list of German actors who will be in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming World War II film, “Inglorious Basterds.”
The 44-year-old will play alongside Brad Pitt with German colleagues Christoph Waltz, Daniel Brühl und Diane Kruger when filming begins in Berlin on October 13, according to The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday.
The film will likely be screened at next year's Cannes Film Festival.
Schweiger is a popular German film star, but has made a few cameo appearances in English-language films, such as "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life," and "Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo."
The supposed script of “Inglorious Basterds” was leaked in mid-August and published on the internet.
If the script is genuine, the film will feature Pitt as the leader of a band of American-Jewish soldiers sent behind enemy line during World War II to murder as many Nazis as they can in horrific ways.
