Son beheads father in Thuringia
A 23-year-old German man in Hildburghausen is suspected of killing and beheading his father, public prosecutors in the eastern German state of Thuringia said on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old called local police and told them he had killed his father on Monday evening. They found the 54-year-old father's head near his body. The man was arrested immediately.
Officials suspect the man may be psychologically disturbed and the prosecutor's office in Meiningen said they plan to get a court order to have the man committed for psychological evaluation.
The public prosecutor's office was unavailable for further comment.
