2) No names please: It is common practice to address your German colleagues with Frau or Herr and use the formal “Sie” form of you. Only if you are offered to switch to the “du” form by a higher-ranking colleague (regardless of sex or age) may you use the informal form of address. However formal this may seem, German co-workers have no problem hanging out naked together in the sauna on business trips.
