Karlsruhe turned into warped construction site
To mark its 300th birthday, the city of Karlsruhe in south-western Germany is being decorated by impressive large-scale, construction-inspired sculptures - including a whole house suspended over the city from a crane.
Pulled by the Roots – This astonishing sculpture by Argentinean artist Leandro Erlich looms over the city centre, as it hangs from the enormous crane. The building literally appears to have been ripped out of the ground by its roots, and could be a comment on the human impact of carving up whole neighbourhoods.
