Due to low pressure across western Europe, the weather will become increasingly warmer in the coming days with central and eastern Germany experiencing the highest temperatures.

However, there is the risk of occasional storms and showers, particularly in western Germany and the low mountain ranges.

Temperatures will be 29C around the Rhine and Mosel on Tuesday and on Wednesday could reach 30C in the south-west.

For the rest of the country temperatures between 25C and 28C are expected, according to state weather forecasters DWD.

On Thursday and Friday the warm temperatures will move towards the east, but thunder storms, hail and strong winds are predicted.

The outlook for the weekend is pleasant but cooler with temperatures between 22C and 25C across the country, with some thundery showers expected from time to time.

On Saturday Berlin will be sunny with a high of 24C, Hamburg mixed and 23C, Cologne stormy with temperatures of 22C and Munich sunny with 22 degrees.
