Germany's best actors

As the Berlin gears up for the glittering Berlinale film festival, The Local List this week is dedicated to the best actors and actresses Germany has had to offer.
And while the list may read a little like the cast list for Quentin Tarantino’s Nazi epic "Inglourious Basterds," we’ve not forgotten the stars that helped shape Germany’s vibrant cinema scene into what it is today.
So from young Daniel Brühl to the screen legend Marlene Dietrich, have a read through the list - and for those in Berlin, see who you can spot hobnobbing around the city over the next week during the festival.
