The double killing took place late on Friday night in the town of Völkingen in the southern German state of Saarland. The nine- and 10-year-old sons of the woman are said to have witnessed the shootings. They ran for help to their neighbours, who called the police.

Upon his arrest the man admitted immediately that he had shot the 49-year-old woman and her boyfriend, police said. Officers found a shotgun in his apartment, which is upstairs in the same building.

The exact motive is unclear but a police spokesperson said that long-standing quarrels about the rent between the landlord and his tenant may have been behind the incident.

The authorities are now seeking the children’s father who is thought to live in France.

Rich people kill poor people. The state is responsible also because they didn't give money from budget to the poor people. But yeah, Germany care who will win elections in East Europe, so, Serbian government just got donations from Germany, 137 million euro. Who will get that money, poor people in Serbia? Of course they will not get it, politicians will put it in their pockets. Minister Dulic in Serbia spent 25 000 euro for one website, of course, he didn't resign and surely secretly he shared that money with webdesign company.

& the beauty of it all is: the mean old b@astard has lived his life already.

Back in the day they would've hanged him, now he'll get 10 years, if he lives that long.

White trash.

Let's see, he is 81? Born in 1930 then. 15 years old at wars end. Now how did they fix disputes back then? Hmmm, seems he was just following procedure and didn't learn much after the war...

They should have paid the rent, in Germany renters have more rights than the owners. It is a shame. To evict one, you need almost an act of congress, in the meantime they live for free and you as a owner pay their bills. And than they laugh in your face. I can understand the guy. I wouldn't killed them, is not in my nature, but I can understand him.
