“That’s how it was for me for 10 years,” Becker has told talk show Beckmann, according to an interview preview released Sunday. “I experienced just the same thing and I can sympathise with him.''

Becker famously had sex with a Russian model in the broom closet of a fancy London restaurant in 1999, while he was married. He later paid £2 million in a paternity claim and described the swift liaison as “the most expensive five seconds of my life.”

At the same time, Becker admitted he was “surprised by the dimension, the frequency” of Woods’ apparent affairs.

“Given he had to cover it all up, purely logistically, how did it organise it all? He must have been constantly changing phones and covering his tracks,” Becker marvelled.

Widely reported rumours claim Woods, who is married to former Swedish model Elin Nordegren, has had affairs with at least a dozen women.

Becker said Woods would face a tough challenge saving his marriage.

Story continues below…

“Of course new stories are always going to come from the outside. Whether they are true or not doesn’t matter any more. Every week a new woman comes along.”

The full interview is to be broadcast Monday night on television channel ARD.

It takes one to know one. This man is a pain who always thinks light shines out of his arse.

Is that Becker with the pecker? The guy who conceives in a cupboard by magic?

We all make mistakes in life. Does that mean that we should be crucified for grave mistakes? I agree that what Tiger did is unacceptable. However, let's give him a chance to work on his marriage, instead of encouraging betting and betting odds related to the prospects of a divorce....PLEASE.

I am not a fan of Tiger, although I do respect him, though not as much as Nicklaus, who played during the golden age of golf, when Gary Player, Watson, Trevino, Palmer and others were around. Far more significant personalities have committed similar crimes, and that includes former presidents, to say the least. Guys and girls, let's give him a chance to repent and alter his approach to life.

Well, the truth is, we all do make mistakes. However, what Tiger Woods did can't possibly be considered as such.

No human being should be treated like that. And regardless of what Elin does, all of this will follow her forever.

Therefore how could she justify staying with him?

Self-esteem is brilliant.
