Around 100 people with 43 cars had managed to get onto the site and were holding races when around 50 police officers showed up.

All those present will be fined, an official said on Sunday. He also admitted that illegal races have likely been held regularly after hours on the track.

Those taking part had organised the races over the internet and had met up at a nearby car park, then entered the track property one by one to start the races.
