The weather across Germany is expected to be warm and summery over the next few days.

This will be welcomed relief for most after the shock of temperatures which approached 40 Celsius in some places on Thursday, followed by storms, heavy rain and sharply lower temperatures on Friday evening.

Temperatures will sit between 22 Celsius on the coast, and 32 Celsius in the upper Rhine valley, according to the German Weather Service on Saturday.

Sunday will be largely sunny, with a few clouds, but maintaining the pleasant summery temperatures.

Monday will remain sunny and dry, apart from the region west of the Rhine and down to the Black Forest, where storms are expected. Tuesday is expected to start off sunny, but showers and storms are predicted to pull in to the north west and west of the country. Top temperatures will range between 21 Celsius on the coast and 29 Celsius in south east Bavaria.
