Police called to help howling dog find bored parrot
Police ready to deal with an animal cruelty case when called to a house by neighbours who could not ignore the howls of a tortured dog were startled to find the miserable noise coming from a parrot.
Officers were called to the house in Herbrechtingen, Baden-Württemberg by neighbours who said they had been disturbed by howling for hours, and were sure the source must be a dog in terrible condition.
When they made the landlord open the door, the officers found a perfectly healthy, but obviously bored parrot, howling away on its own.
To top it off, one of the policemen put his finger towards the bird in a friendly gesture, only to receive a nasty bite, according to the police report.
