Elderly driver destroys parking garage

A seven-metre wall fell from the fourth floor of an Esslingen parking garage on Monday night after an elderly driver rammed into it, police reported on Tuesday.
The 78-year-old driver knocked the wall some 10 metres onto the street below, completely destroying two cars and damaging another, police in the German state of Baden-Württemberg reported. The elderly driver’s car remained hanging on the edge of the disaster, but did not fall.
The driver was hospitalized and police estimate the accident did some €50,000 in damage to the parking garage.
