German police and customs workers arrested seven alleged major drug traffickers in possession of €7 million worth of cocaine at the Frankfurt airport on Tuesday.

The arrests were part of investigation into a narcotics smuggling ring.

Two men from the Netherlands, a Belgian, and four Germans were arrested with 47 kilogrammes of high-grade cocaine from South America and €90,000 in cash, police reported. The suspects ranged in age from 26 to 43-years-old. They all had warrants out for their arrest.

Police said their investigation of the drug ring will continue.
