Lead singer of German teen band Tokio Hotel, Bill Kaulitz, is resting comfortably after a successful vocal chord operation that caused the band to cancel upcoming European and American tour dates last week.

“The operation went according to plan and the doctor is very confident,” the band's producer David Jost told German news service DPA.

Jost said it remains unclear whether the 18-year-old's voice will remain as it was before the operation.
