Lovesick pensioner 'blew up' woman's car

A 56-year-old woman sustained minor injuries in Kulmbach after a small explosion in her car.

Prosecutors and criminal investigators in the German state of Bavaria said on Tuesday that an improvised explosive devise had been planted in her car. Police found the device behind the driver's seat, as well as traces of smoke and powder residue in the car.

After the explosion Kulmbach police special forces unit arrested a 64-year-old man for attempted murder. Police said they believe the incident may have been a crime of passion.
