Madonna causes a stir in Berlin
Berlin is going crazy for Madonna after the American singer arrived to promote her new movie. Madonna arrived at Tempelhof airport on Tuesday evening and went to the French Brasserie “Entrecote” in the Mitte district of Berlin. The American singer dined there for two hours as photographers stood there waiting.
Madonna entered the restaurant accompanied by eight people, one of whom carried her baggage. The group supposedly ordered beef and sole. At the neighbouring table sat German Health Minister Ulla Schmidt. Meanwhile, Madonna’s baggage was brought to the Regent Hotel on Gendarmenmarkt. The pop star will be staying in a 150-square meter room with a separate kitchen and a private cook.
Having travelled to Berlin to present her film “Filth and Wisdom,” Madonna will be in Berlin until Thursday. She will present her film for the Berlinale at 9:30pm on Wednesday night at Zoo Palast. A large crowd of fans and journalists is expected at the event.
Madonna’s multicultural comedy about an out of the ordinary flat share in London is part of the panorama section of the film festival, thus is not competing for a Berlinale bear. The leading actor is Ukrainian musician and actor Eugene Hütz. Madonna has accompanied his band Gogol Bordello in London.
