TripAdvisor ranks Germany's top 25 hotels

Users of the popular travel website TripAdvisor have ranked Germany's top 25 hotels, with the winners ranging from glamorous towers in Berlin to family-oriented establishments near amusement parks.

The website's “Travelers' Choice Awards” are based exclusively on ratings from guests, offering an unvarnished guide to the country's best hotels. However, the list is heavily slanted towards Berlin, an unmistakable sign that the city is disproportionally favoured by tourists.

Fourteen of the top 25 hotels are in the German capital, including the first-placed Concorde Berlin, a towering temple just blocks away from the city's shopping boulevard Kurfürstendamm. TripAdvisor readers had nothing but praise for the Concorde, calling it everything from “perfect” to “exceptionally cosy.” Many reviews were particularly impressed with the hotel´s service, remarking that they felt at ease immediately.

Coming in second place with equally gushing reviews, The Circus Hotel in eastern Berlin impressed the online travel community with its central location and charming interior. As one reviewer wrote, “tastefully and stylishly furnished hotel in central Berlin… service, furnishings and cleanliness exceeded my expectations – especially in price.”

The first pick outside the German capital is number seven Hotel Colosseo Europa Park in Rust, Baden-Würtemburg. As to be deduced from its name, the hotel is just 200 meters from the nearby amusement park. With a range of amenities including outdoor recreational activities, Hotel Colosseo is sure to give the park a run for its money.

But it can't all be fun and games, now can it? If you're coming to Germany for business, the Sheraton Congress Hotel in Frankfurt am Main came in twelfth with TripAdvisor users.
