Bus driver 'made €200,000' on fake tickets

A Munich bus driver appeared in court on Monday to face charges of forging monthly public transport passes and selling them, raking in around a quarter of a million euros.

And with the help of his wife - as well as a friend, his wife and her mother - they sold them at €10 less than the actual price – earning at least €244,000 from their illegal enterprise, the court heard.
The tickets resembled those valid on the Munich transport network (MVV). He was employed by the company which ran the buses used in the system.
Back in 2011, the defendant was handed a suspended sentence for forging travel tickets. This time, though, it appeared unlikely that he would get off as lightly.
The paper said his accomplices would probably not be sent to jail and instead were likely to be put on probation. The court was expected to deliver a verdict on Wednesday.
