Doctor hid 700 guns and stash of ammunition

Police officers searching a German doctor’s office and flat for evidence of medical malpractice stumbled upon hundreds of weapons and piles of bullets.

“We were able to establish massive breaches of the gun laws,” a Munich police spokesman told the Münchner Abendzeitung newspaper.

“Around 400 guns were found, as well as an extensive cache of munitions, although the suspect had only registered possession of 259 weapons as a collector.”

Some of the guns and ammunition were easily accessible rather than locked away, while more were found in his flat and the cellar of his medical practice.

Four days after the first 400 guns were found, he then admitted having another stash of illegal weapons, the newspaper said. A further 300 guns were found there, including rifles, machine guns and other automatic weapons classified as war-related, an officer said.

The doctor admitted illegally owning the weapons, saying he was a slave to his passion for collecting them.

“There is currently absolutely nothing to suggest that the suspect used the weapons. Due to the amount of evidence confiscated, it will take several months to assess everything. The investigation continues,” the police said.

The doctor has voluntarily surrendered his medical licence.

Bulldawg82, that is a nice retort to the hoplophobic nature of of the article.

¦quot;We were able to establish massive breaches of the gun laws,¦quot; a Munich police spokesman told the Münchner Abendzeitung newspaper.

Deutschland could save 10 of millions of euros by getting rid of the bureaucracy that created this 'breach' of the gun laws. The man had an innocent passion for firearms. I bet he could have opened a museum like the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming. Only, the theme would have been along his particular passion. There is in Texas an elderly man now, that owns over several thousand Luger pistols. He has the money and the passion.

He could follow his passion for collecting guns but why does he need the ammunition?

Why does he need the ammunition? For the same reason a car collector needs gas.

@ johnny108,

The Government can not trust it's own citizens. Fear the Government that considers you the enemy.

Considering European history, wouldn't the whole world be safer if we disarmed the Governments of Europe and armed the decent citizens.

And who prey says who are the "decent citizens. " ?

@Englishted-

And who prey says who are the "decent citizens. " ?

Up until 1776 one half my ancestors would have claimed their rights as Englishmen to be considered "decent subjects", unless adjudicated differetly by a Court of Law, but we were ready, willing and able thanks to accurate riflery to change our status to "decent citizens" unless so judged by a jury of our Peers to be otherwise by said jury. It's a Liberterian concept, but some of us don't need a Nanny State to baby us, we can run our own lives and accept the Freedom we were all born with naturally. Google Lexington and Concord to see what a bad idea trying to disarm Free men can be, when they stand together.

Again, I would fear violent governments in Europe more than violentfriends and neighbors. What neighbor ever caused more trouble than the wars/oppression of government or excesses of Kings, tyrrants and petty bureaucrats.

@wenddiver

Unlike you I believe that a glut of guns freely available is causing major problems world wide, and as is often the case the "decent citizens. " as they would call themselves tend to impose there will on the unarmed "decent citizens. ".

Close to you home you could look at the Mexican drug cartels a question whether these "decent citizens. " should be armed ?.

There are also "decent citizens. " who live in your land before you and were driven from their lands and rights by neighbours who were "decent citizens. " and not "Kings, tyrrants and petty bureaucrats."

That in a nutshell is why I said "And who prey says who are the "decent citizens. " ? "
