If so they have more then a drinking problem at the station
I have been through Nuernberg Hauptbahnhof and had to put up with those who cannot and will not act responsibly and contain themselves. No problems with a few drinks but when these idiots over indulge purposefully in binge drinking and wreak havoc on others this is a good law. How often have we recently read in the last year of those who have been bludgeoned to death by drunk bullyswho can only seem to attack in groups at train stations?
You are absolutely correct that the real problem is violence and NOT drinking. So, increased police patrols, bigger fines for aggressive bullies and Hausverbot for them will solve the problem. Now, the police will fine those who drink 1 beer instead of fighting violence, as this is so easy.
We have all been to many events, restaurants with open air seating, and other places where enjoying an alcoholic beverage or two does not lead to violence nor does it lead to arrests by the police.
