Boy, 14, sells mother's jewels for brothel visit

Two 14-year-old German boys have been charged with stealing €3,000 worth of jewellery from one of their mothers, to pay for a visit to a brothel. Police said the boys were still grinning as they were being questioned.

"With their proceeds of €300, the pair didn't just buy pizza, kebabs, and have a game on the fruit machines," police spokesman Ralf Minet said. They also paid two visits to a brothel in the red light district of Karlsruhe, southwest Germany.
Buoyed by the night's experiences, “one could still see a delighted smile on the faces of the thieves during their interrogation," Minet's statement said.
"But the little rascals' smiles, who are not unknown to the police by the way, disappeared soon enough, especially because they will have to pay for the reversal of the transaction out of their pocket money," he added.
The boys are to be charged for theft.

well, seems to me that the boys paid fair and square for sex with professional prostitutes, no force or threats were involved, the girls just did with them what they have chosen as a career to do all day long.
Imagine that.
The age of consent (civil law) in general is 18 - with a few exceptions.
One of these being the so-called pocket-money paragraph which means kids can spent little amounts if they come up for their expenses from money left to them for that purpose.
But of course in this case, that does not help:
They committed a crime (theft and transfer of illegally acquired property) - criminal code, they can be charged at 14, but under juvenile law
They must not attend such placed when under 18 years of age - but that is a problem for the prostitute as she needs to check age if in doubt. And I cannot believe she took a 14 year old to be 18... So SHE may be charged...
