You do not have to teach me. I have gone through all the teachings from madrassas in my childhood. I know the holy books well enough to understand what each word and context means.

The hadiths you quote talk about BATTLES, and the hadith I quoted talked about NIGHT RAIDS. Night raids are also UNPROVOKED acts of rioting.

I am only quoting your books. Those are not my words. So why are you angry? You should be angry at Imam Muslim for having documented these.

If you really think that those verses do not belong to your books, start a movement to cleanse your religion (my ex-religion) of those hate-causing teachings. That is better than trying to use Taqqiyya (deception) and Kitman (concealment of truth) because people are slowly waking up to the truth.

I am amazed at how tolerant the German government, and unfortunately the German people, are of a political message based on hatred by the neonazis of a religious group, and even the protection and promotion of the active display of such hatred. It would have been great if Germany had matured as a result of its antisemitic history towards a revocation of such hatred against any religious group. There are German laws restricting such "freedom of expression" when it comes to hatred against Jews. This seems to be misinterpreted by Germans as meaning that it is ok to hate everyone else!! I suppose revisiting the educational system in Germany may be helpful, in a way that would try to instil some values that do not encourage hatred and provocation to those who they consider as being "lesser" cutlures, as is evident from the posts above. This would enable Germany to fully reintegrate into the civilized world.

munichiscool,what a cop out, why can you not put it into context? this appears to me to be an ideal opportunity for someone who can speak with authority and go some way to counter apparent misconceptions which lead to mistrust and ultimately hate. Why not at the same time give us a muslims view of apostasy?

@CensorThis - I have all respect for most aspects of German culture, but I feel a little disturbed by the granting of official and popular legitimacy to a platform based on hatred, that's it. I am neither an expert on German nor Islamic affairs, but I am merely commenting as an external observer of how this issue has evolved. It is evident that the salafists broke the law and should be arrested and prosecuted for it; but this does not exonerate the original acts of hatred that seem to be supported by the masses, and would definitely not be supported in the US and many other western countries. I am hopeful that some Germans will also stand up against such hatred. Perhaps this is happening on other online fora but I did not see it on this one.

Germany has many rules and regulations which gives outsiders the impression that it is strict. As I'm sure that those who live here will agree, that it isn't actually so. Actually, the country functions largely on people playing nice with each other. Although there are many rules about, for example, people being quiet in their apartments, in practice apartment living is very peaceful because people are naturally quiet and respect the space of those around.

However, this mentality is open to abuse.

Surely, the issue here has nothing to do with religion, free speech or ideology but a preparedness to live and let live. Germany finds it hard to cope with those that are prepared to incite or respond with violence. It isn't the German way.

It's absolutely appalling to me, that critique of religion meets with such mindless aggression and violence. Where has the Spirit of Enlightenment gone? What has been done to the Spirit of liberation of Human Being from the power of the clergy and religious creed? There were fierce battles for freedom of speech and conscience, a lot of fighting for the right to speak "I believe in no God", "I believe in many Gods" or "I believe in God in my own manner". In our times, it's even acceptable in most European countries to desecrate eg. Christian symbols; while so much ranting about Muslim ones? Why can't one openly say their stance about Islam and Quran?

While I have absolutely no problem with peaceful Muslims, they do NOT attack the folks who display caricatures. Moreover, some ex-Muslims were among the ones who participated in the display. On the other hand, Salafists are NOT just Muslims, they are Islamists, that is, holders of the ideology of Islamism, that is similiar to nazism in many ways, especially with regards to its totalitarian character (for a Salafist, everything must be done, regulated and judged according to the harsh, medieval interpretation of islamic law; all kinds of religious liberalism and modernism are prohibited within this movement, secular democracy is NOT accepted by them, too).

This is NOT hatred to tell there are dangerous islamists in Europe, when THEY ACTUALLY ARE THERE. And it is NOT about spreading hatred towards the Muslims, as Muslims as such are NOT guilty for the excesses of extremists, no more than socialists may be guilty for national socialism or stalinism (and no, they are NOT guilty of this).

but religion is not like one's parents. Religion is a set of ideas, that might be followed by some, renounced by others and criticised by another ones. It's unacceptable to prohibit critique of ideas. A lot of people have followed Volkisch supremacist (no, not nazi, but 19th century Volkisch) mindset, too, and are emotionally tied to it; does it mean it shouldn't be criticised or caricatured because it hurts their feelings?

Also, almost everyone is a parent to someone else, does it mean he or she should be spared from criticism because of this? Should we not caricature and ridicule politicians because they usually have children who may feel offended (and they usually do)?

Moreover, if one was to take the idea of not caricaturing religious persons seriously, Christians and Muslims would have to change their creed, as they do often abuse and ridicule Satan, who is a sacred being for a lot of Satanists, Occultists, Sethians, etc. So Muslims should renounce symbolic stoning of him, Christians should do without anti-Satan rhetoric of Jesus, St. Paul and Evangelists, etc. There is absolutely NO reason while Satanists are to be discriminated against their religious rights.

Why does the German version of the Local delete so many comments compared to the Local editions for other Euro countries? Is this an example of the authoritarianism that led to the nazi's rise to power? Don't you see that such deletions mean that the mentality is in place for totalitarianism to again rise in Germany?

What the salafists show is that they're incapable of living in a free society. You know, they can't see that most people 'suffer the slings and arrows;' that is, life may be bad, but death likely worse. As for Jager's comment about most most muslimes being peaceful, heck, what about most of the non-muslime Germans who didn't show up at all?
