Grandpa forgets girl locked in car boot

A German grandfather was so distracted by a beauty spot that he left his nine-year-old granddaughter locked in the boot of his car and went for a walk.

Once the 72-year-old grandpa had returned to the car park in the Sorpe Lake in the Sauerland area of North Rhine-Westphalia, he admitted he had put her in the boot of the car, the Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper reported on Tuesday.
He told police she had asked to travel in the boot of the car just once, and he had let her do so on the way to the lake.
But he said he was so distracted by the beauty spot that when he arrived, he simply got out of the car and went for a walk.
A police spokesman told the paper the man was, “visibly affected by the whole situation,” and that he was given a warning, and promised never to let anyone travel in the boot of his car again.

Don't you know. It's not politically correct to say no to children anymore. And if you dare say no. You might just get a visit from a lawyer hired by said child for interfering with their right to self determination.
Of course I'm being sarcastic. Parents and guardians should say no far more than they do.
Very true. Either way you lose. The Children's Services people will come see you because you actually disciplined your child (or even said NO to their request) or the the Children's Services people will come see you because you endangered their lives by giving in to their childish demands.
Different routes to the same outcome. Either way you're a "bad parent."
