This means not only Indians are crazy.
The marriage is not legally recognized so the whole 'slippery slope' argument is ridiculous. Because someone pays an actress to conduct a fake ceremony does nothing but demonstrate mental instability. People have willed their estates to pets, it has nothing to do with society, it is about those people.
Tossing out broad generalizations, smearing homosexuals and implying that the culture tolerates molestation (clearly untrue by the current uproar) from this amusing story is a stretch into the absurd.
But his sadness at her imminent passing made him want to show his love for her.
It's a beautiful and sad story and those who don't appreciate it for what it is are hard people who can't be touched by empathy or love.
There's nothing funny about this - it's just sad that the love of his life is leaving him.
My wife and I have two cats and they are as much a part of our family as any human being - they are cherished and loved deeply.
Good luck to you Mr Mitzscherlisch and good luck to your adored companion, Cecilia.
Rather than being "ridiculous" the slippery slope analogy is right on point, the point being that marriage to a cat is the cutting edge of a culture that tolerates gay "marriage" and yawns at child molestation by the clergy (as the CEO of the Catholic Church's continued lack of accountability proves). Stories like this must provide extremists with all the proof they need that the end of western civilization is near. I must say it goes a long way to convince me.

Uh yah... that would be me. Just so you know, I didn't legally marry the Eiffel Tower. I made a personal commitment... but if it makes you feel normal by doing so... Viel Spaß!
Early UK media sensationalized the story. I only agreed to take part in media to advocate for others who have the same inclination but I have never asked for special privilege and I don't think this man is either.
Though, my intolerance for this case would be if there is harm being caused by either party in the relationship. If the man simply married his cat as a symbol of devotion to his beloved pet, I see no problem... yet this talk of further nuptial actions would indicate something more serious. However, nothing has not been noted in this article to indicate such.
