Pensioner fined €14,000 for 'ass bombing' pool

A pensioner from the state of Rhineland-Palatinate has reportedly been fined €14,000 for repeatedly doing Arschbomben, or “ass bombs,” the German equivalent of cannonballs, at a public swimming pool.

The retired 74-year-old teacher, identified as Axel G., appeared before the Alzey district court this week to appeal the fine for what daily Bild on Friday described as years of terrorising the local pool, where “ass bombs” are forbidden.

He was accused of scaring guests at the Wartberg Freibad with his splash-happy antics, hitting a woman over the head, sticking his tongue out, spitting in the water, and even dunking a 12-year-old girl underwater in 2006, causing her “mortal fear,” according to Bild.

The suntanned pensioner denied all of the explosive charges, but the pool security camera evidence worked against him, revealing footage of his “ass bombs.”

“The way you behave is really nothing to brag about,” Judge Rolf-Rainer Nebe said.

The court proceedings gave Axel G. a change of heart, though. He has withdrawn the appeal and decided to pay the fine, which reportedly included penalties for assaulting the girl, making false accusations and outstanding tax offences.

For that kind of money, he could have been taking holidays and "Arschbomben" much better places than the Wartberg Freibad.

What percent of that €14,000 is going to Greece?

Every pfennig of that 14 grand is going towards putting up signs saying "Arschbomben ist streng verboten!"

I bet that old arschbomber was fined so much for doing that at his age ; I mean someone at 74 going around doing things at public pools which are could possibly be heard of from 10 year olds........ the age difference is just so much to spare him the €14,000. He deserve it for being such an old fool....

Words fail me.....

I bet Euros to Donuts that the Wartberg Friebad (what an unfurtunate name...Wartberg?) has at least a portion of the facility set aside for FKK bathing. Talk about terrifying. A 74 year old pensioer allowed to swim nude but forbidden from doing a cannon ball. To paraphrase the movie stripes "Lighten up, Guenther".

I, for one, am happy he gets punished for such childish behaviour in a public pool (and before you ask, yes, I am a boring old fart, and no, I am not German).

Also the story suggests that the 14G was not just for the bombing but "reportedly included penalties for assaulting the girl, making false accusations and outstanding tax offences." I would guess all of those would have a higher punishment than the bombing.
