Most Germans want Britain to remain in the European Union (EU), a study suggested on Thursday. Just 22 percent said that the EU would be a better place without its island neighbour.

The European Union Act of 2011 requires that, if further powers are to be ceded to Brussels, a referendum must now be held to decide the issue. Other polls show that 75% in the UK would not support further powers being ceded to Brussels - which seems to preclude Britain participating in any further integration or moves towards a federal EU. If the rest do want a federal EU, perhaps it would be best for Britain to be out.
A more appropriate study would be that to find out how many Germans would opt to stick with the EU given the option to leave.
Farage especially rails against the EU and the Commission, but is quite happy to sit in the Parliament and draw a salary and expenses. He reminds me of an atheist who goes to church, heckles the preacher and then takes money from the collection plate.
Cameron wants to remain within the "common market" but not be bound by the regulations which control it and ensure fair competition, but still have a place at the negotiating table.
The polls before the last referendum on staying in the EU were very similar to the current polls, possibly even more in favour of leaving. However, the actual referendum totally reversed the polls' predictions.
I can only hope that, if there is a referendum, sense will again prevail.
Actually, Germs and those unsteady about a future without the Brits should keep their shaky rear steady: you can make it by your own without them. Germany and the European Union (EU) can fly cheerfully without England support. And with her one-step-in-one-step-out moves, England has became an outright prostitute a last-choice partner to anyone. She is not a first-choice partner for a dance; above all, she is a disloyal lady : she likes going cozy with well hung cowboys (and she often get abused : Big Bird grants no free of charge swings…). Mr. Jacques Delors, a charismatic figurehead in the history of European Union, has recently pointed out that England may carve her way out of the EU; this certainly was a sign of ras-le-bol caused by England infidelity and nights of debauchery. An intercourse between the EU and England is always jerky; and often interrupted, cut short by England. Maybe the EU is not enough well hung or can not satisfy the physical appetites of this greedy lady...Better then to quit such unstable union rather than risking to lose one¦#39;s potency in futile attempts to satisfy a never-unsatisfied lady. They do not ask an unfaithful lady for more than a swing : she will jump off the dance floor with an another partner. Does she really deserve a particular treat? No. Don¦#39;t they say that one eats by the sweat of they brow? Yes. Where is the contribution of England in the effort of rebuilding a strong EU? Not any. This said, let this lady carve her path out of the EU unhindered.
The article talks about Britain, not England. But, perhaps you are just ahead of the curve...
It would be good if Britain took stock of what it has in common with continental Europe, forget about the wars it has had with continentals, and concentrated on how to preserve a common heritage based on the values of the Enlightenment. A Europe divided is weak. A Europe with Britain stands a good chance of survival.
Sigmund Freud died to early to make a study of how your mind works ,because it is too bizarre and strange for myself to make a guess at what you are trying to say when you use so many double entendres.
Somewhat like a duckbilled platitude.
The EU is building a bigger-thing than the USA, but fragmentations in currency and Federal-power make it look like a matrix of special-agreements.
Dull-minded ones often blame the text instead of addressing their hang-ups
Well done ,congratulations on over coming you need to write 400 words of dribble to express a pointless and banal meaning.
Cartesian michael4096!
Maybe I¦#39;m not that much ahead the curve: the journalist wrongly referred to Britain (Great Britain would be right) because Britain is not mentioned as a EU-state member but the UK (leads by England). So, apparently you (and the journalist) are ahead of the curve, Sir...
