Your comments about this article:
in 1990 greece lend germany 60 billion euros which germany never returned to greece.
Now, germany says thank you.
germany is going without war for a long time now and did so before.
plus germany was crushed after ww2 more than any other country still they came back big time.
anyway you must be some stupid rednack or a greek lol so talking with you on this topic doesent make sense anyway
I think that the War thing will always haunt Germany. However, it is correct, that Germany had nothing after the War as well and still managed to do good things.
It is inexcusable for politicians from Greece to be lying about there debt problems to the world... (Joining the EU and not announcing all debts...)
I do not understand why Germany should come to the Rescue about this as I don't see France, or any other EU nation giving money to them?
So in other words... Greece get off your arsch and get yourself a Job!!!
i mean trueman probably grew up with a grendpa sitting on the dinner table tellin him how bad the germans are.. that's what u get out of it..
i have already written a detailed note by comments on day today happening in Greece in New York Times news website.
Here, after going this article, please don!t help or rescue Greece from economic disaster, being a European Union member, Germany can help to Greece by strict guidelines, new real rules at this critical juncture.
I know very well on Germany!s hard working people, multi racial personalities, economic growth and strong in world exports.
Please be a lending a hand to Greece for present scenes.
Years later(now) their own fellow Europeans ask for their help and the answer is what we all just heard which stands to tell how wicked and heartless this people are.
Where is the LOVE...The love we should be sharing and preaching.
I am glad that at the end of every life event history always tells the full story and its account-Maybe History would say that Greece asked their friend and ally(Germany) for help and they coldly turned them down and advised them to sale or give in return for help their island(s)-(What a history that would make).
Hope Greece would rise real strong on their feet again.
My heart reaches out for you all.God Bless.
Greece has a budget problem which consern the public sector and the hole greek society. Greece is in EU (ECC in this time) since 1980.. (no connection with the budget problems). At this time the average income of the greeks was 65% of the main european (now is about 95% but you have to count the entries of the ex-eastern countries). The average income of DDR in 90ies was the 30%!!!!!!!! of the european. So think about like logical person WHAT IS MORE EXPENSIVE?? 1) the entrance of Greece in EEC (1980) OR 2) the DDR intergration in 90's??? (Merkel isn't ex DDR citizen?)
Let;s forgive (not forget) the WWII stories but this hysterical reaction from the (well known as cool!!) germans is inacceptable..Greece has a serius budget problem and a level of debt not far away from a considerable number of other european countries (and only PIIGS). So bacarefull becouse the times are not goods and normaly the EU in this period has to be strong not only economicaly but also politicaly. (yesterday Deutsche Bank was attacked by Moobys). So have a nice days ...and lets don;t make problems without reason (Greece has A LOT OF MONEY _dont be naifs- and when the situatiopn is really dangerous these money allways are back) So good day again and don;t worry your taxpayers ara safes!!!
P.S. German people ;re notorius for their humor...anyway
