Muslims call for 'denazification' of state

Published: 13 Dec 12 12:41 CET | Print version
Online: http://www.thelocal.de/national/20121213-46753.html

An umbrella organisation representing Muslims in Germany has called for a "denazification" of German state authorities, and demanded they refrain from using the terms "Islamism" and "Islamist" to describe radical Muslims.

The German Muslim coordination council (KRM) presented a dossier on Wednesday on the botched investigation into the National Socialist Underground (NSU) terrorist cell.

German Muslims say the debacle - in which authorities failed to prevent the murders of nine immigrants and one police woman over a decade - was no accident, wrote the Frankfurter Rundschau on Thursday.

The investigation into the murders was prejudiced, said the KRM, a result of a distorted view of Islam in Germany and a widespread stigmatization of Muslims.

The council even went so far as to demand a "denazification" of German state authorities and officials, and that all responsible state authorities and politicians should feel the consequences of their failure to detect the right-wing extremist terrorist cell.

In recognition of the seriousness of the crimes, Germany should hold annual memorials for the victims of the NSU, said the council, and teach children about the murders in school history lessons as "a problem arising out of the Nazi past."

Spokesman Erol Pürlü told the press, "Those who murder Muslims today, will murder those who don't comply with them tomorrow."

Further demands laid out in the dossier included creating a special category for anti-Islamic attacks in crime statistics, and for officials to stop using the words "Islamist" and "Islamism" to refer to radical Islam.

Pürlü emphasised that the council had no doubt that Germany was a functioning democracy and praised the work of the parliamentary NSU investigation committee tasked with looking into the failure of German authorities in the case.

Meanwhile, Aiman Mazyek, Chairman of the Central Council of Muslims, said he supported a ban on the neo-Nazi National Democratic Party (NPD). The heads of Germany's 16 federal states earlier this month backed outlawing the party, but a previous legal challenge failed in 2003.

Mayzek added that the council was concerned about growing racism in German society, and called for the state to co-operate with Muslim organisations in fighting the trend, wrote the paper.

Mayzek said that while he could not deny the existence of radical Muslims in Germany, he felt the surrounding debate was too heated and that it was wrong to play off right-wing extremists against Muslim extremists.

KRM is just another hate group itself. Should have any influence on the German government or the German people.

For sure, lets refer to these folks as "middle easterns"

Nice try...

Perhaps these men should deal more intensively with the crime, where the perpetrator to have a Muslim background.

No week passes in which one can recognize that the offender often has an immigrant background.

When was the last time a Hindu organization hijacked a plane?

When was the last time a Budist organization blew up a building?

When was the last time the Catholic church set off a car bomb?

And just for you conspiracy nuts I will add one more thing to the lst.

And when did they public brag about it and celebrate in the streets over it?

When an organization commits random acts of violence on civilian populations we call them terrorist and it is hard for some of us to distinquish the ones committing the violence from those that call for the violence and those that celebrate the violence.

Just another hate group?

Compromise and serious non-bias conversation will be more beneficial.

Being held hostage by religious and political self-interest racist groups, originations and their ancient stories and cultural folklore is counterproductive.

The German parliament has demonstrated it is open to negotiations with other political, religious hate groups, extremists, Middle East rouge States and other self interest minority groups? Why not negotiate with the German Muslim coordination council?

Hey owlguard, you know that Hindus invented the suicide bomb? The Tamil Tigers are notorious terrorists and 100% Hindu. They've killed thousands of civilians with their bombings, hijacks, gun raids, etc. Hindus have massacred Muslims, Christians and Buddhists in recent years, but you never hear about it because it only happens in India and nobody cares.

And when Buddhist Japanese were carrying out the Rape of Nanking, suiciding themselves against American ships, and generally being evil, that obviously meant that everyone in the Buddhist "organization", from Tokyo to Lhasa to Kathmandu were EQUALLY guilty and worthy of suspicion. We should have been watching those Tibetan monks to see if they were about to launch the next evil empire!
05:23 December 14, 2012 by owlguard
Hey antistar, thanks for making my point. Really, WWII Kamikaze pilots who flew military aircraft into military targets for their country Japan? You want to classify them as Buddhist terrorist? LOL I could have made better come backs than that. You want to know why Hindu's are not in the press? Because Hindu priests are not announcing to pay blood money to anyone who will kill someone who says dispuriging things about their religion. The IRA is Catholic and they have attacked civilian populations for the purpose of terror. However, the Catholic church never condoned their actions, ouch! As a religious teaching, I only know one rmajor religion whiich says it is ok to lie to and kill unbelievers. A muslim official fights with words and reason to get his country to stop killing peole just because they do not believe the same as he does and he is brutally murdered by his own muslim body guard who them claims to be a martyr? Please, spare me your crys of injustice.

Why doesn't the KRM get their radical Muslims under control instead of telling us what and how we should call terrorists. Have a Merry Christmas!

This sort of reaction doesn't seem unusual by Turkish Muslims. At first glance it appears completely irrational and hysterical but maybe they have a point we just don't see it because we are not them.Like recently here in the Netherlands a Turkish man was murdered by a neighbor of Dutch origin after years of neighborly disputes and arguments. The Turks insist it had something to do with racism.Like it was a racist murder not just a neighbor dispute gone out of control. It gives the sense of a community that feels alienated and under siege. One wonders if they really are so uncomfortable,I mean let's assume they have a point with this denazification business that German authorities actively conspired with this Neo Nazi group. What on earth makes them stay in Germany? More, what exactly is there outlook on society as a whole? Like they seem to think they are like cowboys and Indians the Germans being the Indians the native out to take there scalp and they circle the wagons. It's not a healthy thing however which way you look at it.
13:54 December 14, 2012 by raandy
I assume that the term Radicalized Muslim is preferred to the term Islamic jihadist .

Islam is a religion and a way of life to many followers it is a religion of peace, forgiveness and mercy.

When some asked the famous writer William Faulkner what he thought about Christianity, he replied " I think it is a great religion to bad we never practiced it."
15:35 December 14, 2012 by owlguard
Sometimes I come off harsh and I don't mean to be. I do not believe anyone shouild be denied rights of life, liberty, and the honest pursuit of propery just because they are different. But we must not pretend something is real just becasue we say it is real. I am tired of hearing the phrase Islam is a religion of peace. We judge a religion based on facts not pladitudes or personal phylisophical wishfulness. We judge a relgion by its founder, did Jesus carry a sword, did Jesus ever kill anybody. I have no doubt that there are peaceful muslims but don't tell me the relgion is one of peace unless you are prepared to support that claim. And yes, I know, Christians do not always act very Christian. To make matters worse anyone can claim to be Christian, even when they share nothing in common with the Jesus of the scriptures.
16:42 December 14, 2012 by raandy
owlguard I hear ya, and I am not trying to Pi^s on your parade.

but

The majority of Muslims are peaceful and we are judging all Islam on the radicalized ,and some of these people wish it would stop.

It's funny that Muslims would say "Those who murder Muslims today, will murder those who don't comply with them tomorrow." That's what is happening in all those newly Islamized states. Christians are driven out of Egypt and other North African states; churches are being burned in Nigeria, Kenya. As for the word Islamist, what alternatives do Muslims have in mind to describe radicals? They seem to use the word Nazi rather freely too. The KRM is hypocritical or blind, or both.
15:00 December 15, 2012 by jmclewis
The Islamist only want their fascism. They express their selves in more direct more graphic ways we need to embrace their culture and celebrate with them. I will have a beer to this; oh wait I cannot drink alcohol ....... The West needs to smarten up a bit and stop migration from the third world they do not enrich the culture they wish to destroy it.
23:34 December 15, 2012 by antistar
Really, WWII Kamikaze pilots who flew military aircraft into military targets for their country Japan? You want to classify them as Buddhist terrorist…
Nope, not terrorists. Terrorism is violence designed to scare people into doing something the terrorists wants. The kamikaze pilots were prepared to kill themselves in order to save an insane regime that carried out atrocities like the Rape of Nanking.... which you conveniently ignored. Buddhists who commit evil and are prepared to suicide themselves to allow that evil to continue.
You want to know why Hindu's are not in the press? Because Hindu priests are not announcing to pay blood money to anyone who will kill someone who…
Hindus are constantly sending death threats to those who insult their religion. Just one example of many:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/1530284/Hindus-threaten-cinemas-over-film-exposing-plight-of-Indias-City-of-Widows.html

The head of the World Hindu Council was so mad at the film he said "We will attack cinemas if necessary."

Hindus have massacred Christians, Buddhists and Muslims in India repeatedly. The Hindu extremists get particularly enraged by converts from Hinduism, a popular pathway for the "untouchables" who can escape the foul, discriminatory lives forced upon them by Hindu's caste system by changing their religion (the caste system is the reason so many Muslims exist in India - they converted to avoid the awful life belonging to the wrong caste forced upon them).
The IRA is Catholic and they have attacked civilian populations for the purpose of terror. However, the Catholic church never condoned their actions, …
And I bet you think Palestinians are rabid Muslim terrorists, even though, like the Catholics in Northern Ireland, they are fighting a territorial war divided down religious lines (and the fact that many Palestinians are Christian and support the violent struggle). Catholics bomb civilians because they are unrepresented in business and politics due to long standing prejudices in the state. Palestinians bomb civilians because they have been occupied by a foreign power for nearly half a century, a power that denies them basic human rights, like freedom of movement, the right of self-determination, the right not to be kidnapped from your home and interrogated without probable cause.
