Bomb scare shuts down Bonn train station

German authorities shut down Bonn's main train station on Monday after a device believed to be a pipe bomb was found in a bag. Many trains were cancelled or delayed while specialists blew up the abandoned hold-all.

Around half an hour later bomb disposal experts detonated the bomb using a water cannon. Inside the bag was, Express regional paper said, a functioning pipe bomb and a clock.
Eye witnesses told police that they saw a young man leave the bag on the platform.
A further false alarm was raised when a suspicious shoe box was found elsewhere in the station shortly after. It turned out to be harmless, however.
Trains to nearby Cologne were re-routed through Bonn-Beuel and taxis put on offer to take stranded travellers. The building remains closed.

Will that be seen as the price of freedom or will that lead to ever more cameras and mandatory GPS chipping of everyone and collecting the data for a minimum of 5 years because of terrorism?
Short memory? I remember just the same thing happening on the London transport system killing many innocent people ,but maybe that was only a laugh?
