Neo-Nazi 'aided Munich Olympics massacre'

A German neo-Nazi helped the Black September Palestinian terrorists who kidnapped and murdered Israeli athletes during the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972, according to a news report.

The Munich massacre of 1972 has long been considered the sole work of Palestinian terrorist group Black September, but new evidence has emerged suggesting the involvement of German neo-Nazis, Der Spiegel magazine reported on Sunday.

Historical documents released to the magazine by the German secret service show that Dortmund police had been aware of collaboration between Palestinian terrorist Abu Daud and neo-Nazi Willi Pohl seven weeks before the attack - yet did not intervene, wrote the paper.

According to the report, Dortmund police sent a letter to the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Germany's intelligence agency, in July 1972, raising suspicions about a meeting that had taken place between the Palestinian and the neo-Nazi, who had bragged to his employer about having contact to the radical wing of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO).

Pohl is said to have put Abu Daud – who went under the alias Saad Walli – in touch with an expert in falsifying identity documents. Daud was one of the chief orchestrators of the massacre in which eleven Israeli atheletes were killed, nine following a botched rescue attempt by German police.

Pohl, who renounced terrorism decades ago and now publishes crime novels under another name, told Der Spiegel he was unknowingly involved in the preparations for the attack. “I chauffeured Abu Daud back and forth across Germany, where he met Palestinians in various cities,” he told the paper.

Pohl was eventually arrested in October 1972 in Munich. He was found in possession of sub-machine guns, hand grenades and other weapons and is thought to have been planning further attacks on German soil on behalf of the PLO, according to the report.

Despite the strong evidence of terrorist activity against him – including being in possession of a letter written by the Black September group – Pohl was given a light sentence of just two years and two months in 1974. Four days after being sentenced, he made his escape to Beirut, Lebanon.

Well, the connections between Black Septmber and left extremists militant groups in Europe were well known, for example the Red Brigades, since 1972 nobody came with that information, it is strange, the Neo Nazies in Europe were allways concentrated in fight against the forgeins ,color people and yes Jews in Europe,

but nobody can rull out their help to Black September in murdering the Israeli athlets, any way immediatly after Muenich attack Golda sent the Mossad agents to eliminate the terrorists in Europe, and Abu Doud was killed by the action of the Israeli Commando's in Tunis later together with other terrorists.

Palestine could have been free dozens of years ago... all that was needed was for the PLO leadership to renounce violence AND accept Israel's right to exist. That Arafat and other leaders rejected this in favor of another Intifada in the hopes of destroying Israel shows they have never been serious about peace.

They also insist on the "right of return" in the hope of overwhelming the state of Israel demographically. Approximately 700,000 "refugees" left Israel in 1948. The quote marks are because the overwhelming majority left of their own free will on the orders of the attacking Arab armies in the hope of giving them a free field of combat, and were promised new land and homes after the (hopefully successful) war to annihilate the new Israeli state. When that did not succeed, they were forced into refugee camps where they have been kept in a seething cauldron for the last 60+ years, and where their numbers have grown to over five million. Of the original 700k "refugees", only about 220k are still alive. All the rest are their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and only through Orwellian United-Nations-speak could they be classified with their forebears or be considered to have the same status.

They should perhaps be allowed "return" only after Germans are allowed to move back to East Prussia, Armenians are allotted their own land in Turkey, and Texas is given back to Mexico.

Good Luck...

Well said,

It 's a pitty that people like mobaisch does not get the message after 64 years of failed wars and misery which was more in the arab side then in the Israeli side,

they have not understood yet that with violance they will achieve nothing, instead they can watch the example of Jordan and Eygpt.,countries who understood that political issues can be resolved with talks.

@Mobiasch- Better save your Confederate and East German money too, As long as we are discussung things that just aren't going to happen.

Like the Bauder-Meinhoff Gang , another silly project of the STASI and KGB, that led to a bunch of dead innocents with no military sucess.

Peace was the answer and the Soviets tricked your people into choosing terrorism.

Mobiasch: I think that at this moment, the intelligence services of germany and a few others are looking at you very hard, trying to find your connection to terrorism...good luck buddy.

Palestine could live a very good life. The entire country could focus on building roads, schools, markets, making soem sort of industry, farming, etc. They could build a nation and come out on top. they won't since it is in the interest of the political extremists to keep war going so they can stay in power. transition from war to peace, get a life for each of the kids, give them a real secure future.

Nations should stop sening any money to Palestine. they shold send tractors, seeds, clothes, medicine, only things that can be used fro peace. Some things would be converted, but the money is used to bribe and corrupt, material would be harder to use for those means.
