Teacher admits to sex with 14-year-old girl

A German teacher was charged with 12 charges of abuse after admitting on Thursday he had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old pupil over several months.

A report in weekly magazine Der Spiegel said the relationship developed after the girl wrote the 46-year-old father a note saying "I love you."

The maths and biology teacher claimed on Thursday that it was not the first time that a pupil had fallen in love with him, though he normally ignored them. He told the court that the girl in question had waited for him outside the teacher's room at "almost every break."

He testified that she sent him an invitation on Facebook in the autumn of 2010, after which they spent three hours a day chatting on the social network site.

He said he refused an invitation to go to the cinema in December 2010, but then agreed to meet up with her a few weeks later. The sexual relationship began in February 2011.

The affair was revealed when the victim's sister accidentally logged into her Facebook account and read her correspondence with the teacher. She and their mother then alerted the police.

The teacher was suspended, but continued to meet the girl. He admitted in court that he should have sought help.

A verdict is expected on April 13.

aww. too bad it wasn't a priest. I've been looking forward to a little of the traditional anti-Catholic vitriol here @theLocal. to go with the happy helpings of pro-Iranian regime support. There was plenty of support @theLocal for military campaigns against Libya and Egypt. I guess those countries weren't enough like Iran. No those countries didn't quite share your / Iran's view of Israel, so, they don't matter. Just as this story about a Teach won't matter.

Maths and Biology!!!

This itself sounds strange. What a crazy combination.

@derExDeutsche

The watch shown in the picture with the article shows middle eastern time or what?. You are strange but interesting :).

@TheLocal

What you mean by the accompanying picture? One arm looks like ladies arm. You wanted to say that both the gal and the teacher were arrested and handcuffed together? Article says nothing to suggest this.

@joysonabraham ...

One arm looks like ladies arm...

it's about time you take a close look at the hand of a lady in germany, they don't do gardening with bare hands, they wear gloves .. the one on the left looks like one froma somewhat elderly person, the one on the right looks like one from a sissy math teacher .. in pinstrip and a jacket. so where is the lady's 'arm'??? is life so boring for you??

The post here have little to do with the article.

I did get quite a chuckle out of ex D ,however.

At 46 you are flattered that a young 14 year old going on 30 takes a serious interest in you. To bad the guy did not weigh the consequences of what would happen if he and her were exposed. I guess this is a common situation where the little head rules the big one.

@ raandy

u are absolutely right, ...

the 46yr old teacher was definetly flattered by the attention from the 14yr old girl..

. Well I hope the little girl is ok and I hope she is not too deep in love with him. Its just a phaze of her life and she will get over this and move on. I just wish people would make constructive comments so as to help others in these situations rather than focusing on irrelevant issues such as the article picture used....

I'm not saying this is right, but perhaps someone can explain how this is illegal? My understanding is that the age of consent is 14 in Germany.

@DrWho

Between someone or both that are under 16, down to 14 yes.

But over 16 and sex with someone at 14 is a no no .

Strange but like many German laws there is a massive gray area in it.
18:10 April 7, 2012 by raandy
DrWho yep sure is, problem with that???? Its legal because the Government voted it so.
