Drugs plot raid reveals old woman feeding rabbits with cannabis

Police in Brandenburg who discovered a large plot of cannabis called on the neighbouring house only to find an 84-year-old woman who had been feeding her rabbits with the plants.

“The rabbits really like it,” the woman told officers who called on her in the village of Golzow near Belzig, according to Saturday’s Tagesspiegel.

A police officer had seen the healthy, metre-high plants from the road while on his way to work and told his colleagues, who visited the plot’s owner – the elderly woman.

She told them that she had not grown the plants herself, but that they had simply started growing there, and had proven to be excellent rabbit food. Not only did the rabbits love eating the plants, they grew back very quickly after she cut them down, she told the investigating officers.

A spokesman for the Brandenburg police said her explanation had sounded plausible, but the officers could not leave her with the plants, rather cut them all down and took them to the forensics laboratory for testing.

The three large plastic sacks of weed will now be tested to determine the level of THC – the psycho-active ingredient in cannabis - they contain. There was no official comment on what the elderly woman was expected to feed her rabbits with now.

Method of testing: let dry, roll in paper wrapper, ignite, inhale.

Also, wonder if they were killer rabbits prior to eating that stuff?

and begs the question, what do they do for the munchies if it's the thing they're munching that gives them the craving?

Ok, I'm done now. I've got to study for a "test."

The obvious aside, somehow this woman's story just rings true. Sorry for the bunnies, but I just can't help but think this is entirely plausible. Let's face it...there are a lot of older people who quite likely have no idea what a pot plant looks like, and might well consider it just another weed if it suddenly started growing in their property.

Gotta love it.

Could be the lower THC marajuana known as ditchweed or hemp. It grows wild. She sounds like a good rabbit owner, feeding them what they like.

If it was ditchweed or hemp do you think they will replant it for her now that they have taken away her free rabbit food?

Will they have withdrawal symptoms? Have there been long term effects on the rabbits from consuming all that cannabis? I sure hope at least a couple of the rabbits are observed.

Stacks of older people out in the sticks grow dope as they're seen to be less criminal, and their buyers are often customers from old.

Dopeheads are not exclusively young, they age like the rest of us.

This kind of law is going way too far. The woman has basically been disowned of her property, that she was growing on her own land. The police shouldn't have the right even to enter her premises, nor to tell anyone what they are allowed to grow. If it's my land it's my own business.

Only if there was evidence she's a drug dealer and by that I mean a real witness, who would confirm to the police that she's selling drugs, the police should be allowed to act.

That was the SAME excuse I used when busted back when I was 15. "Honest Mom, that is only Rabbit food!"

One pill makes you larger

And one pill makes you small

And the ones that mother gives you

Don't do anything at all

Go ask Alice

When she¦#39;s ten feet tall

And if you go chasing rabbits

And you know you're going to fall

Tell them a hookah smoking caterpillar has given you the call

Call Alice

When she was just small

When the men on the chess board

get up and tell you where to go

And you just had some kind of mushroom

And your mind is moving slow

Go ask Alice

I think she'll know

When logic and proportion

Have fallen sloppy dead

And the white knight is talking backwards

And the Red Queen's "Off with her head!"

Remember what the dormouse said

Feed your head

Feed your head

As a stoner that's had to take breaks on several occasions, I can safely tell you that there are no withdrawal symptoms or long-term effects.

The authorities are worried this will lead the rabbits to stronger veggies. Gateway drugs may make the rabbits try GMO carrots or worse, what could be worse?
