Woman's death takes Love Parade toll to 21

The death toll from Saturday’s Love Parade crush has risen again with a 25-year-old German woman succumbing to injuries overnight, bringing the number of dead to 21, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

The precise causes of the woman’s death were not yet known, Haverkamp said.
North Rhine-Westphalia Interior Minister Ralf Jäger is due at 3 pm to make public an interim report on the tragedy, which daily Süddeutsche Zeitung has reported will accuse the organisers of dismissing fears over safety flaws and misjudging the management of the crowds.
Thirteen women and eight men have now died because of the stampede, which happened Saturday afternoon at the Love Parade techno festival after crowds built up in a tunnel leading to the dance area.
At least 500 people were injured in the crush.

What went wrong this year? Is it the change of venue? Or was the crowd rowdier than the previous years? At any rate, whatever change implemented, this should not have happened. Memorials are now being offered to those who died. Germany and other countries are in mourning because of lives lost. What?'s sad is that these people went to the Love Parade to show their love for music and for life. It is such an unfortunate event!
