Bundesliga clubs crack €2-billion barrier

The 18 clubs which make up Germany's Bundesliga have recorded a turnover of €2 billion for the first time in the league's 50-year history, the German Football League (DFL) announced Wednesday.

Germany's top tier clubs announced a turnover of €2.08 billion for the 2011/12 season, up 7.4 percent, an increase in sales for the eighth year running.

The clubs have a post-tax profit of €55 million while debts rose from €594 million to €623.8 million.
