Deutsche Bahn to seal huge rail deal with Qatar

German rail operator Deutsche Bahn is set to sign a contract worth "billions of euros" to build railways in Qatar and Bahrain, a spokesman for Deutsche Bahn told AFP on Friday.

German business newspaper Handelsblatt earlier reported that the contract would be worth a total of €16.7 billion ($24.8 billion).
The daily said the contract would include a rail network in the Qatari capital Doha as well as two high-speed lines to the Doha airport and to Bahrain.
