The 61st annual Berlin International Film Festival runs from February 10-20 and boasts almost 400 films. Don’t get lost in the frenzy – check out The Local’s tips, event picks, and ongoing coverage to make the most of this year's Berlinale.
There’s no better way to while away the post-holiday winter blues in Germany than losing yourself in the delights of velvety cinematic darkness at one of Europe’s top film festivals.
This year, the Berlinale focuses on the future of cinema, headlining 3D art-house films and showcasing the work of young directors. But there will plenty more action both inside the cinemas and on the red carpet to check out. This year's Berlinale at a glance.
While offering a bounty of great films, the festival is also a bit overwhelming. But fear not, The Local has a few tips on keeping any funny business from blocking your escape into show business. A logistical guide to the Berlinale.
