Facebook commenter faces hate speech probe
The television broadcaster Südwest Rundfunk (SWR) has reported a user of its Facebook page to state prosecutors for writing a racist commentary on the refugee crisis.
The person had commented on an post about refugees on ARD-Weltspiegel's Facebook page with the words "dirty cattle, if I only had 24 hours and a sharp knife..."
The user's profile picture also contained a text which read "Arabs aren't human. Death to the donkey fuckers,“ the state-owned broadcaster alleged in a statement released on Friday.
State prosecutors in Stuttgart have now begun an investigation into a case of possible incitement to hatred, which falls under criminal code 130 of the federal law and carries a maximum sentence of five years in jail.
